For your practice
Veterinary software for farm and livestock practices
Herd-level records, group treatments and rounds that work where there is no coverage, with the antimicrobial paperwork coming out the other end.
The subject of the work is often the group
Farm practice breaks most software in the same place: it assumes a patient is an individual. A mass medication on a barn, a group treatment across a batch of calves, a herd-level record — these are the normal units of rural work, not edge cases.
Xolotl models the herd and the group alongside the individual animal, which is what lets the same visit produce a correct clinical record, a correct stock movement and a correct invoice.
What rural practices use
- Herd-level records and group treatments
- Mass medication across a barn or a batch
- Ear-tag identification per animal
- Mastitis work: pathogen classification, per-quarter CMT trend, dry-off flagging
- FEC, EBV and locomotion trends
- Truck stock, so what you used comes off the vehicle rather than the practice shelf
- The round cached offline, and kilometres carried into billing
- Antimicrobial use tracking and AMU reporting
Two registers, not one
Food-producing species — cattle, pigs, veal calves, small ruminants, poultry, rabbits — keep reporting antimicrobial use through SANITEL-MED. VAMREG, live since 1 July 2026, covers the non-food-producing side: horses, cats, dogs, fur animals and farmed fish.
A mixed rural practice therefore sits on both sides of that line at once. Xolotl records the administration once and keeps the antibiotic tracking behind both. The register guide sets out which is which.
Questions from rural practices
Is there a rural pack to buy?
No. Farm work is included at the same per-veterinarian price as everything else. In this market a rural pack is typically priced above the companion pack and below the equine one.
What happens on a farm with no signal?
The visit is recorded on the device and queued. It syncs when you regain coverage, with the treatments, the consumables off the truck and the kilometres attached.
